JFrançois Chénin, né en 1954, en Lorraine.

Grâce à un père voyageur, passe son enfance à l’étranger (Grèce, Turquie, Iran…).

Avec un arrière-grand-père Prix Goncourt 1907, Emile Moselly, reste attaché à cette Lorraine rurale, celle de la Moselle et des chènevières de Chaudeney, des écluses d’Ecrouves et de Pierre-Latreiche, de la Forêt de Haye et des Côtes de Toul.
A consacré ses dernières années, avec son frère Gilles, à rééditer l’œuvre complète de cet écrivain oublié (en savoir plus).

Entretiendra une correspondance éphémère avec Jean-François Lyotard, René Char, Francis Ponge, Gilles Deleuze, George Mounin, Eugène Guillevic et d’autres, sans suite.

Devient écrivain (en savoir plus). Plus tard, découvre Calaferte et Wittgenstein.
Revient toujours à René Char, pour la joie ou dans la peine.

Passe quelques temps dans deux cabinets ministériels (J.Guyard et V. Neiertz).
Tout l’occupe, la philosophie et l’écriture, instituteur, maire d’un village de 500 habitants, responsable du Département Recherche & Développement de l’Onisep, chercheur en éducation.

Puis vit à l’étranger pendant près de 20 ans au service de la langue et de la culture françaises comme directeur adjoint d’un Institut français (Tel-Aviv, Israël), directeur d’Alliance française (Karachi, Pakistan), délégué général de l’Alliance française (Inde et Etats-Unis). Commence les collages numériques et les compositions graphiques en 2013 au Pakistan.

Depuis l’enfance, a le goût de l’ailleurs.
A trois enfants et aime s’attarder à la terrasse des cafés.

Aujourd’hui en Normandie, face à la mer.
Voyage encore un peu. Ecrit partout où il va. Dessine la nuit.

With a well-travelled family he spent his childhood abroad (Greece, Turkey, Iran…).

Through his great grandfather Emile Moselly who won the Prix Goncourt in 1907, he remains attached to his family roots in rural Lorraine, the Moselle river and Chaudeney’s chènevières, Ecrouves and Pierre-Latreiche locks, Forêt de Haye and Côtes de Toul.
He has devoted the past few years, alongside his brother Gilles, to re-editing the complete works of this forgotten writer (read more).

He once engaged in a short-lived correspondence with Jean-François Lyotard, René Char, Francis Ponge, Gilles Deleuze, George Mounin, Eugène Guillevic and others.

He has become a writer (read more), later discovered Calaferte and Wittgenstein.
He keeps coming back to René Char for joy and in sorrow time.

He spent some time in two ministerial cabinets (J. Guyard and V. Neiertz).
Everything keeps him busy: philosophy and writing, primary school teacher, mayor of a village of 500 inhabitants, head of the Onisep Research & Development Department, educational researcher.

He then lived abroad for almost 20 years in the service of French language and culture, as deputy director of a French Institute (Tel-Aviv, Israel), director of Alliance française (Karachi, Pakistan), General Delegate of Alliance française (India and USA). Began digital collage and graphic compositions in 2013 in Pakistan.

Since childhood, has had a taste for elsewhere.
Has three children and loves to stay in outdoor cafés.

Today in Normandy, facing the sea.
Still travels a little. Writes wherever he goes. Draws at night.
